The Kiel Castle<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Kiel Castle<\/em> is the ideal starting point for the Schleswig-Holstein Castles and Lakes<\/em> Tour of Eastern Holstein<\/em>, but almost any other departure point can be included. After recognizing today’s event venue as no longer very \u201ccastle-like\u201d, we start our day trip in Schleswig-Holstein with an anti-clockwise drive around the Great Pl\u00f6n Lake via Preetz (here a visit to the noble monastery<\/em> and the associated monastery church from the 13th\/14th century can be included). Even on this part of our Schleswig-Holstein tour, we learn interesting facts about the formation and special features of the North German lowlands<\/em>. Of course, you will also learn more about the course of the day. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The picturesque landscape of Holstein Switzerland<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We make our first short stop on the south-western shore of the Gro\u00dfer Pl\u00f6ner See<\/em> to take a look at \u201cthe smallest cathedral in the world\u201d, St. Peter’s Church in Bosau<\/em>. Dating back to the 12th century, this church was once the seat of a bishop and is now one of the few well-preserved fieldstone churches in Schleswig-Holstein. Continuing through the picturesque landscape of Holstein Switzerland<\/em>, we reach Eutin (depending on the previous program points, lunch (upscale or rustic) or coffee and cake can be planned here). We stroll through the small alleyways towards the market square and visit Eutin Castle<\/em> with its beautiful castle park. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Pl\u00f6n Castle<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

We continue to the climatic health resort of Bad Malente<\/em>, in the middle of the beautiful lake and forest landscape of Schleswig-Holstein’s largest nature park. Here we board a boat (if the season and weather conditions permit) to enjoy the five lakes<\/em> from a different perspective on the way to Pl\u00f6n. Once in Pl\u00f6n, we make our way to Pl\u00f6n Castle<\/em>. This involves a small climb that has to be covered on foot, but the view over the Gro\u00dfer Pl\u00f6ner See and of the castle, which is now a training facility belonging to the Fielmann Academy, make up for the effort. Optionally, you can then visit Pl\u00f6n itself (e.g. for coffee and cake) or the castle from the inside, depending on your schedule. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Afterwards, we return to the starting point or another specified location with many wonderful impressions of our beautiful Schleswig-Holstein<\/em>. The Schleswig-Holstein tour Castles and Lakes of Eastern Holstein<\/em> described above, without the program points suggested in brackets, but with the boat trip, takes between 4 and 5 hours. This program can be extended, shortened or changed according to individual preferences. Other manor houses or other churches can be visited, other places for lunch can be chosen or another activity can be planned instead of the boat trip. Please note that this tour only includes a visit to the exterior of the castles and churches. It is possible to visit the inside of the buildings, but this must be arranged individually with the sights and may have to be paid for separately.
